ThermaDoor Technical

ThermaDoor™ Garage Door Insulation is a construction grade EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) Insulation Panel Laminated with an impact resilient, easy to clean Vinyl finish. ThermaDoor™ has been specifically designed to fit to the internal panel of most sectional garage doors. ThermaDoor™ Garage Door Insulation Panel is made up of the following properties.

(EPS) Expanded Polystyrene Panel

Accredited by the Building Regulations Advisory Committee (BRAC) under BRAC certificate number V11/07; The EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) building panels are made up of Perform Guard® - termite Resistant EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) (Grade M).

Standard Panel Sizes and Surface Mass

The standard panel size is 2500mm x 1200mm, in a nominal standard thickness of 40mm. The surface mass of the panel is given in Table 1.

Understanding R Values

All home Insulation materials have certain features in common. Each is designed to trap air in tiny pockets or cells, whether fluffy, foamed or loose fill. Some are more efficient than others at resisting thermal exchange. All are rated by an ‘R Value’. An R-Value is a precise measurement of a materials resistance to heat transfer. The higher the number, the greater the materials capacity to resist heat flow – meaning more efficient Insulation.

Early Fire Hazard Properties

From the test conducted by AWTA, Division of Building Material – NATA Accreditation # 1356, the following indices given in Table 4 have been determined.

Binding Layer

A paper based or cardboard material ranging from 100gsm to 250gsm.

Adhesive / Bonding Agent

A Polyvinyl Acetate or Polyvinyl Alcohol or Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (Adhesive).

Care Instructions

Warm water & non-abrasive, pH neutral detergent solution. Surfaces should be thoroughly rinsed (not high pressure cleaned) after cleaning to remove all residues. Surfaces should be cleaned using a soft cloth or sponge or a soft natural bristle brush.
